3 Date Night Restaurants Boston

Skull Cocktail from Zuma Boston

If you’re looking for somewhere special to spend your next date night, then you may want to consider one of these upscale gems. Full disclaimer, these restaurants are not exactly budget friendly, so I would pay a visit when you’re feeling a little fancy and ready to splurge. Now that we addressed the elephant in the room, let’s get into it…

ZUMA

Zuma Boston, there’s so much to be said about this stunning Japanese restaurant. The beautiful interior features crystallized fixtures and three open kitchens. Sushi lovers, if you’re reading this, this one’s for you. There’s an open sushi counter where you can watch the chefs prepare your food. I don’t know about you but that’s an automatic bonus for me. The portions are on the smaller side, which I don’t entirely mind, considering I’m the type of person that likes to taste a little of everything. Zuma is definitely a good place for a night out with your boo.

EDDIE MERLOT’S

Eddie Merlot’s is a steakhouse in the heart of Boston, Ma, best known for their prime aged beef, fresh seafood, and signature cocktails. It’s a spacious restaurants so while it’s great for a date night, it’s also the perfect destination for a celebratory accommodation. Their charbroiled oysters, filet mignon, and table-side bananas foster are some of my favorites. The presentation of the bananas foster alone, will have everyone else around you breaking their neck to get a view of it. Trust me, I’m guilty of that myself.

MASTRO’S OCEAN CLUB

Mastro’s Ocean Club, I would argue that they may have some of the best steak I’ve had in Boston. I’d also argue to say, it could all depend on who’s cooking it. I had Mastro’s for the first time a few years ago, and the steak was the most tender ever, just butter. Even after microwaving it from my to go box, still melt-in-your-mouth good. Fast forward, I revisited Mastro’s in early 2022 and it wasn’t quite like I remembered. I got the same order, including the steak (filet mignon) but it wasn’t as tender and flavorful as the first time. Just to be clear, it was still good, just not as memorable. So, was it the chef or a change in management, I’m not sure, but I would still highly recommend Mastro’s based on the overall dining experience, despite my MIS-STEAKS. Side note: the lobster mac and lobster mashed potatoes are highly worthy of a taste.
